Troubleshooting Electronics to the Board Level

Course Description
The participant will be able to troubleshoot electronic equipment to the board level at the completion of this class. The participant will be able to identify which circuit board needs to be replaced or repaired. Troubleshooting solid- state circuits such as power supplies and amplifiers. Be able to correctly utilize Oscilloscopes and multi-meters in troubleshooting. Upon completion the participant will be able to understand the electrical fundamentals and solid-state devices such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, SCRs and TRIACs. ( all items in attachment B will be covered in this class )

Course Prerequisites
Knowledge of the fundamentals of electrical and electronic troubleshooting and repair procedures.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Identify which circuit board needs to be replaced or repaired in an electronic system;
2. Troubleshoot solid-state circuits such as power supplies and amplifiers;
3. Utilize oscilloscopes and multimeters in troubleshooting; and
4. Understand electronic fundamentals and solid-state devices (such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes SCRs and TRIACs).

Duration
40 hours

Student Enrollment
To ensure optimum hands-on experience and instructor/trainee interaction, a maximum class size of 12 students is recommended.
